Dishtok
TikTok recipes, cleaned up

Privacy Policy

Dishtok has no accounts and no advertising trackers. What you submit is used only to extract a recipe, and the resulting recipe lives on your device.

What you give us

When you tap Extract in the app — or use the Save to Dishtok share extension from inside TikTok — Dishtok sends a single piece of information to our server: the TikTok video URL you chose.

What we do with it

If the caption has no recipe in it, the iOS app can read the video itself. In that case your iPhone downloads the video, transcribes the spoken audio, reads the on-screen text, and samples a handful of still frames — all on your device — and then sends that text and up to six still images to our server, which passes them to the same AI model. The video file itself never reaches our server.

We do not store the URLs you submit, the captions, transcripts, or frames we receive, or the recipes we return on our server. They pass through and are gone. Our server logs record only whether a request succeeded or failed — never the content of one.

What lives on your device

This data is stored in an app group container on your iPhone, shared between the main app and the share extension. It is never uploaded anywhere. Deleting Dishtok removes it.

What we don't collect

Third parties our server depends on

To return a recipe to you, our server makes up to three outbound requests on your behalf:

None of these parties is told anything about you as a user — only the content described above.

Website analytics

The iOS app contains no analytics. The Dishtok website (dishtok.vercel.app and this marketing site) loads a self-hosted page-view counter at roy-analytics.vercel.app to count visits. It sets no advertising cookies and is not a third-party ad or marketing network.

Children

Dishtok is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any data about them.

Changes

If this policy ever changes meaningfully, the change will appear on this page with a new effective date.
