Dishtok
TikTok recipes, cleaned up

Support

Archived · 2025. Dishtok was shelved the same day extraction worked and is kept online as a working artifact. It still runs, but it is no longer maintained: there are no planned updates and bug reports won't be worked on. The answers below are the support there is.

Dishtok turns a TikTok food video into a clean, structured recipe. If something isn't working, this page has the common answers.

How it works

You can also open Dishtok directly, paste a TikTok URL, and tap Extract.

"Save to Dishtok" doesn't appear in my share sheet

iOS hides share extensions by default. To enable it: tap Share in TikTok → scroll the gray icon row all the way to the right → tap More → toggle Save to Dishtok on → tap Done. It will now stay there.

"No recipe text in this video's caption"

On the web, Dishtok reads only the caption the creator wrote. If the recipe lives solely in the on-screen text or the spoken audio, the website can't see it — look for videos where the recipe is written out in the description.

The iOS app can go further: when the caption comes up empty it reads the video on your device — transcribing the audio, reading the on-screen text, and sampling frames — and reconstructs the recipe from that.

"This TikTok link isn't reachable"

The video is probably private, deleted, or region-blocked. Try a different one.

I want to delete a saved recipe

In the Cookbook tab, long-press a recipe and choose Delete.

Privacy

Dishtok has no accounts and no advertising trackers. The iOS app has no analytics; the website counts page views with a self-hosted counter. Full privacy policy.
